I have read some wonderful books in recent months: When Women Rise Up Rooted, by Sharon Blackie,  Reclaiming the Wild Soul, by Mary Thompson Reynolds, and Big Magic, by Elizabeth Gilbert.

One thing that jumped out at me was that they each posed the  question … What if the earth also loved you?

So often when we love the natural world, we can get caught up in the struggle. The knowledge of what is has been lost or damaged; the wanting to find solutions.

Of course we want to find solutions.

But sometimes this can carry a great burden, as we take it as a personal responsibility.  What if there is another way to be with this, and to take our part?

A way founded on our interconnection with the natural world.

We can let go, we can dance more and play more. We are restored as we work to restore. We move from love.

There are people who say we only need to love. But love is a verb. When we are in connection, then it is natural to also act; to find the expression of that love.

It might be environmental activism, gardening, healing, teaching or art. Whatever it is, it will come from connection and feel alive and free, even when challenging.

What if we let the earth assist us?

We can ask the earth, the trees and mountains and the water for guidance.

Guidance from your deepest true heart,  from the interconnection of the world;  the world where your own true nature and the natural world are deeply, naturally, intrinsically connected.

I invite you to try this this week. To take your question or issue and offer it to the water, the trees, the mountains or the springs and let the answer come to you.  I’d love to hear how you go.

What is your relationship to the natural world?

Do you speak to the trees, the mountains, the lakes or the earth? Please share with us below.

Would you like to join me in the 6 – week Wild Heart Program?

One of my greatest joys is hearing about the changes women are going through as they work with me.  Mauria has recently started the Wild Heart Program and wrote to me after her first week, the Woman of Fire. She has written this beautiful poem, the first, she told me, in many years.

There is a fire in your heart said the wise old woman

the fire is gone I replied, and looked away
here is the fire, said the wise old woman

as her hand reached down inside of me
take it, said the wise old woman, it is yours once again
and I looked, as the fire burned bright in her outstretched hand

there is a fire in my heart, I said to the wise old woman
and now it burns …

The other day I went for a walk on a beach near me. It was late afternoon, and the light was fading for the day.

As I stood on the point, looking out towards the ocean, I almost swooned with the beauty.

On one side, looking to the ocean, the light was silvery, shimmering on the water. I could hardly tell where the silver water met the sky.

There was a multitude of shades shimmering within this silver light.

On the other side, the water reflected the colours of the softer side of the sunset, the pinks and blues of the eastern sky.  The colours rippled and danced with the moving water.

I had a few things on my mind, some concerns in my heart.

As I stood there, immersed in all that beauty, something shifted within me. it was as though the water washed right through me, bring with it clarity and peace.

A great ease filled my being.

A sense of abundance and deep trust in life; of possibilities and support beyond my knowing.

Sometimes we only need to ask, to open up to these great forces in life, and relax into our place in it all. There is such wonder and beauty in this world.

Introducing my Individual Wild Heart Program – enrollments now open

In my last article I shared Holly’s response to the Wild Heart Program.

The Wild Heart Program is for you if … You know what it feels like to live vibrantly, freely and with passion.  Yet in the knocks and spills of life, you have lost touch with this. When you’re dealing with anxiety, self-doubt or fear it can be hard to get on with what matters most to you. Maybe a painful relationship, family issues, or work-related difficulties have stopped you in your tracks.

Whatever it is, you long to find that spark and joy again in life, where magic and mystery exist along-side your every day life.

Sometimes when working with others, we don’t get to see the full outcomes of our work together. In many cases, the outcomes flow on for years afterwards, even through generations.  This is one of the reasons why pricing for transformational work is not transactional, but about resonance.

I was touched to receive a final check-in from Holly, who has just finished my new Wild Heart Program.  Before I post her words, I want to acknowledge this other side of the partnership in transformational work – the work of the client.

It takes great courage

It takes great courage and trust to be willing to not only experience your innermost feelings, desires and emotions, but to share them with someone else.  To be vulnerable in this way is ultimately an act of courage and love.  The effects can ripple out through families, communities, and beyond.

To be willing to face yourself, your pain, your longing, and the truest desires of your heart, is the work of a spiritual warrior.

You need to allow yourself to get messy, to unravel if need be, and to let go of what is no longer serving to make way for the new. It means taking responsibility for what arises in that process.

Above all it means choosing courage and love, over and over.

I want to honour all people who undertake this journey, wherever you may be, and however you do this. I especially want to acknowledge my clients, who have joined me in this journey.  It is an honour to work with you.

Introducing Holly …

I found the Wild Heart Program while searching for an alternative method of help after I started to feel disillusioned by the mainstream conventional therapies involving psychologists and medication.

I came across Lure’s work and was intrigued so I reached out and was instantly met with Lure’s kind hearted compassion a genuine eagerness to work with me. I was having difficulties overcoming feelings of anxiety and depression and moving on from a toxic relationship and I was also experiencing a heavy sense of unworthiness.

I wanted help finding direction and purpose as well as a way to cope with grief and methods to relieve my anxiety.

I had some concerns that the program wouldn’t be right for me and was skeptical that anything could help me after I’d already tried therapy with a psychologist. It felt like I was asking too much as I wanted so many different things.

However this was possible as the environment that Lure creates is warm, compassionate and loving and it made me feel at ease and comfortable enough to be able to open up and truly listen and share what I was feeling. Within six weeks I learned how to let go and open myself up towards a brighter future.

Each session was tailored to my needs and allowed me to explore my feelings, which was sometimes difficult as it can be quite scary confronting our subconscious, but during the program I constantly felt like I was sustained in a safe place of infinite love.

The changes I experienced are quite profound, and were noticed by close friends and family. I was able to take control of my anxiety and instead of letting it hinder my life, I was able to start doing the things I truly wanted to such as going out with friends, joining new social groups and stepping up into my roles at work. I also became more focused on the present and my future as opposed to dwelling on the past.

I can’t recommend this program enough. Lure has such a beautiful personality and working with her is a pleasure. It is a structured program with flexibility to accommodate individual needs and it really gives you enough space to work and grow at your own pace. There is never any pressure and no right or wrong.

I am so thankful I found Lure and worked through the Wild Heart Program. I really, truly believe that everybody can take something out of it and start living a much happier life. The highlight of the program is definitely being able to reflect on the first session and realising just how far I have come in such a short space of time. I feel loved, beautiful, strong and powerful and I am now able to put myself out into the world with a head held high.

You don’t have to crush the vulnerable heart in order to be strong

I posted a video recently, titled: Why we need the whole of the feminine – the fierce as well as the gentle. If you missed it, you can see it here.

A few days later, someone wrote to me, saying that I had showed the soft and beautiful side of the feminine, and that maybe I should make one showing the fierce side. I considered this and this video is what emerged from that.  I hope you can watch.

I’d love to know how this lands for you and what the feminine means to you.  Please share in the comments below.

Kimberley community

Tuesday was Australia Day. It is a day of mixed feeling among many Australians. It’s a day of celebration and gratitude. It’s also a day of mourning for many Aboriginal people, and of shame and frustration for many non-Aboriginal people who would like to see more care, more healing and more inclusion in Australia. Someone posted in one of the groups I am in on Facebook, about her feelings of shame, of anger, and helplessness in the face of all she was feeling in the face of all this, and asked for suggestions for what she could actually do to assist in this situation.

This kind of dilemma is common now, when there are so many issues calling our hearts, and our attention.

This is what I wrote to her..

I struggled with this for years, and still do. The way I dealt with it was to keep stepping into relationship with Aboriginal people, which often meant being willing to step way outside my comfort zone. I learned some language (Pitjantjatjara), I stayed in communities (I was lucky enough to be invited to stay at Mutitjulu at Uluru), and later on went to live in Alice Springs for a while, and worked with Aboriginal teenagers from remote communities. I then moved to the Kimberley and lived and worked in remote communities there.

As I kept walking this, my relationship started changing. I changed. I messed up so many times, but that was all part of it. I was forgiven and embraced anyway.

Of course not everyone can do this, nor would want to. Your next steps would look very different to mine. That’s part of the beauty of it.

I went on to say,

Now when I feel that mix of emotions, and want to do something to change things, but don’t know what, I bring it all to my heart first, and let my connection with love wash through it. I do this until I feel clearer.

Then I ask for next steps… what is one thing I can do towards a better relationship here, or what is one thing I can do to help now?

I’ve found this step is important because I care about so many things, and there is no way I can do everything there is to be done about all of them. My question is also about, “Is this for me?”.

There is a surrender in this, and a freedom, as then I can do what I am most aligned with and guided to do, and trust that others will do what it is for them to do.

We’re all in this together.

As always, I’d love to hear what comes up for you when you read this. How do you deal with these issues that just feel too big? Comment below.

Four introductory sessions available in the next 2 weeks

If you’d like to learn more about how I can assist you through my work as a healer and transformational guide, I invite you to book in for one of these. This session is about finding out what is holding your back from what you really want to be doing, and how you live your life.

If you a heart-centred business woman, you might want to find more about what is stopping you take those steps you know you need to take. You might want to FEEL different about your business or practice.

Whatever your situation, these sessions are about seeing what is stopping you from expressing your creativity, sharing your gifts, and settling deeper in your own skin, and looking at how you might move forward from there. Often there is deeper healing needed. Sometimes it is about learning more about integrating your spirituality into your every day life and work.

It also gives you a chance to know me a bit more, and to see whether you’d like to work with me.They are free and there is no obligation to go further, although an invitation if there is a resonance. My wish is that whatever the outcome of the session, you will take away greater understanding about what is going on for you, and what you need.

These sessions will take place via Skype.

To apply, simply reply to this email, or call me on 0458 910 469

At the end of each year, I take some time to consider the previous year, all the joys and challenges, the disappointments and the celebrations. It is part of how I see out the old year and prepare for the new. I find that when I do this, I move forward from a new space, bringing awareness and gratitude for all that has happened, and for the gift of life itself.

This year, I would like to share this with you as well.

Below is an audio recording for you to join me, if you are so moved.  You might want to have some paper and pen handy in case you would like to take notes, Otherwise, you will just need a quiet space, where you can sit comfortably for about 12 minutes.

I would love to hear how you go with the activities, so I invite you to write to me with your responses as well. You can simply reply to this email, or write to lurewishes@gmail.com . You are also invited to comment below.

This is Part A of my end of year considerations. I will write next with Part B to welcome in the new year.

Lure Wishes – Sustaining the Heart

Being seen, and sharing vulnerably and authentically is a challenge for many of us, especially in the context of our businesses. The fears that arise can be about our appearance, or being seen with all our flaws. It may be about being seen while still learning or making mistakes.  It may also be a fear of criticism and envy from those who don’t dare to step out and live fully themselves.

There are so many factors at play and sometimes these are not conscious immediately.  They may show up as procrastination, or second-guessing yourself, or hesitation and doubt. You may even be wearing a cloak of not good enough, while underneath is a fear of what will happen when you stand fully in your radiance, and share your gifts with the world.

It’s important to face these fears

It’s so important to face these fears, and keep taking action, even when it is uncomfortable (and if it is a challenge, it will be!)  This is how you move forward – by taking step after step, and dealing with what comes up along the way.

I have spoken in past videos (you will need to scroll down to find the first one) about how to do this, and shared a bit of my process along the way, in the hope that it will inspire you as you keep walking. I’ve spoken about nourishing your heart when facing challenges and how to step forward in fullness.

Yet sometimes a deeper healing is needed

Sometimes the issues run deeper, and until we bring love and healing to them, they can keep holding us back.  In this video I share some more about this, and about how I approach healing with others.

Your transformation is so important. Your presence can be the greatest gift you bring!

Are you challenged by the idea of being more visible?  If so, what does your fear of being seen look like?  Please share with us in the comments below.
