The other day I went for a walk on a beach near me. It was late afternoon, and the light was fading for the day.

As I stood on the point, looking out towards the ocean, I almost swooned with the beauty.

On one side, looking to the ocean, the light was silvery, shimmering on the water. I could hardly tell where the silver water met the sky.

There was a multitude of shades shimmering within this silver light.

On the other side, the water reflected the colours of the softer side of the sunset, the pinks and blues of the eastern sky.  The colours rippled and danced with the moving water.

I had a few things on my mind, some concerns in my heart.

As I stood there, immersed in all that beauty, something shifted within me. it was as though the water washed right through me, bring with it clarity and peace.

A great ease filled my being.

A sense of abundance and deep trust in life; of possibilities and support beyond my knowing.

Sometimes we only need to ask, to open up to these great forces in life, and relax into our place in it all. There is such wonder and beauty in this world.

Introducing my Individual Wild Heart Program – enrollments now open

In my last article I shared Holly’s response to the Wild Heart Program.

The Wild Heart Program is for you if … You know what it feels like to live vibrantly, freely and with passion.  Yet in the knocks and spills of life, you have lost touch with this. When you’re dealing with anxiety, self-doubt or fear it can be hard to get on with what matters most to you. Maybe a painful relationship, family issues, or work-related difficulties have stopped you in your tracks.

Whatever it is, you long to find that spark and joy again in life, where magic and mystery exist along-side your every day life.

You don’t have to crush the vulnerable heart in order to be strong

I posted a video recently, titled: Why we need the whole of the feminine – the fierce as well as the gentle. If you missed it, you can see it here.

A few days later, someone wrote to me, saying that I had showed the soft and beautiful side of the feminine, and that maybe I should make one showing the fierce side. I considered this and this video is what emerged from that.  I hope you can watch.

I’d love to know how this lands for you and what the feminine means to you.  Please share in the comments below.

Light basketI’ve been posting these articles and videos for a little while now. I love it when I hear from you in response to one of my article or videos; it really makes my day.

Today I would like to turn it around a bit and invite you to introduce yourself.  I’m all about relationship and connection, and I’d love to get to know you a bit more.

If you want to play, simply leave a comment below to some or all of these:

Your name …
Your work …
What lights you up …
One random fact about yourself is..

I’ll start …

Hi, I’m Lure, I live in Hobart Tasmania and work with women who want to step forward and share their gifts with the world but feel held back from what they know is possible. I work with energy healing, heart connection and spiritual alignment to help you heal from the past, deepen your presence, and take your place in the world.

What lights me up?  Singing, walking in the mountains and among trees, swimming in the ocean, wild places. I love seeing people shine and flourish in their life’s work.

One random fact … I am learning to sing in Irish. My favourite song I am learning right now is a song about a selkie, or seal woman. from the north-west coast of Ireland.

Now over to you…. What lights you up?

Kimberley community

Tuesday was Australia Day. It is a day of mixed feeling among many Australians. It’s a day of celebration and gratitude. It’s also a day of mourning for many Aboriginal people, and of shame and frustration for many non-Aboriginal people who would like to see more care, more healing and more inclusion in Australia. Someone posted in one of the groups I am in on Facebook, about her feelings of shame, of anger, and helplessness in the face of all she was feeling in the face of all this, and asked for suggestions for what she could actually do to assist in this situation.

This kind of dilemma is common now, when there are so many issues calling our hearts, and our attention.

This is what I wrote to her..

I struggled with this for years, and still do. The way I dealt with it was to keep stepping into relationship with Aboriginal people, which often meant being willing to step way outside my comfort zone. I learned some language (Pitjantjatjara), I stayed in communities (I was lucky enough to be invited to stay at Mutitjulu at Uluru), and later on went to live in Alice Springs for a while, and worked with Aboriginal teenagers from remote communities. I then moved to the Kimberley and lived and worked in remote communities there.

As I kept walking this, my relationship started changing. I changed. I messed up so many times, but that was all part of it. I was forgiven and embraced anyway.

Of course not everyone can do this, nor would want to. Your next steps would look very different to mine. That’s part of the beauty of it.

I went on to say,

Now when I feel that mix of emotions, and want to do something to change things, but don’t know what, I bring it all to my heart first, and let my connection with love wash through it. I do this until I feel clearer.

Then I ask for next steps… what is one thing I can do towards a better relationship here, or what is one thing I can do to help now?

I’ve found this step is important because I care about so many things, and there is no way I can do everything there is to be done about all of them. My question is also about, “Is this for me?”.

There is a surrender in this, and a freedom, as then I can do what I am most aligned with and guided to do, and trust that others will do what it is for them to do.

We’re all in this together.

As always, I’d love to hear what comes up for you when you read this. How do you deal with these issues that just feel too big? Comment below.

Four introductory sessions available in the next 2 weeks

If you’d like to learn more about how I can assist you through my work as a healer and transformational guide, I invite you to book in for one of these. This session is about finding out what is holding your back from what you really want to be doing, and how you live your life.

If you a heart-centred business woman, you might want to find more about what is stopping you take those steps you know you need to take. You might want to FEEL different about your business or practice.

Whatever your situation, these sessions are about seeing what is stopping you from expressing your creativity, sharing your gifts, and settling deeper in your own skin, and looking at how you might move forward from there. Often there is deeper healing needed. Sometimes it is about learning more about integrating your spirituality into your every day life and work.

It also gives you a chance to know me a bit more, and to see whether you’d like to work with me.They are free and there is no obligation to go further, although an invitation if there is a resonance. My wish is that whatever the outcome of the session, you will take away greater understanding about what is going on for you, and what you need.

These sessions will take place via Skype.

To apply, simply reply to this email, or call me on 0458 910 469

Being seen, and sharing vulnerably and authentically is a challenge for many of us, especially in the context of our businesses. The fears that arise can be about our appearance, or being seen with all our flaws. It may be about being seen while still learning or making mistakes.  It may also be a fear of criticism and envy from those who don’t dare to step out and live fully themselves.

There are so many factors at play and sometimes these are not conscious immediately.  They may show up as procrastination, or second-guessing yourself, or hesitation and doubt. You may even be wearing a cloak of not good enough, while underneath is a fear of what will happen when you stand fully in your radiance, and share your gifts with the world.

It’s important to face these fears

It’s so important to face these fears, and keep taking action, even when it is uncomfortable (and if it is a challenge, it will be!)  This is how you move forward – by taking step after step, and dealing with what comes up along the way.

I have spoken in past videos (you will need to scroll down to find the first one) about how to do this, and shared a bit of my process along the way, in the hope that it will inspire you as you keep walking. I’ve spoken about nourishing your heart when facing challenges and how to step forward in fullness.

Yet sometimes a deeper healing is needed

Sometimes the issues run deeper, and until we bring love and healing to them, they can keep holding us back.  In this video I share some more about this, and about how I approach healing with others.

Your transformation is so important. Your presence can be the greatest gift you bring!

Are you challenged by the idea of being more visible?  If so, what does your fear of being seen look like?  Please share with us in the comments below.

I wrote last week about the need to nourish your heart when facing challenging situations. I had some lovel;y feedback about this. Thank you to all who wrote to me. It is so lovely for me when I hear from you.

I also received a question: How do I invoke love and compassion?

Great questions!  The following video is my response.

I am also offering a free audio fo rthose who would like to practise this. See the video and the notes at the bottom of the video for how to receive this.

How do you reconnect in challenging situations?

When we start to stretch into more visibility, we celebrate our first step in this direction. And rightly so. Celebration of the little steps is always a good idea. However sometimes the second, and the third step can be even more difficult, as we walk through the challenges that arise along the way.

This is just what happened to me in the Video Challenge this week

In this video I share my journey of moving through this and what I learned along the way. I hope it is helpful to you.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and feelings about becoming more visible in your work, and for what you care about. Please share with us below.

One thing I’ve noticed among my clients and colleagues, and in myself, is that so many of us have fears of being visible, as we step fully into our work, and share our gifts with others. This seems especially true of those of us who are healers and creative artists.

In order to step forward more, I recently decided to take on a video challenge. Within a few days, I had a whole group of others from the Heart of Business Community coming to join me in this. It has become something really beautiful as we share about our fears and any tenderness we are feeling around this, as well as the celebrations.

I have had a lot of fear arise in me as I keep moving with this, as early wounds of being judged and more have arisen for healing. I have also received beautiful heart-felt support in the process. In case any of you are experiencing similar, and in the hope that my first wobbly attempts at making a video may inspire you to move through your own fears, I decided to share my first video with you …

I’d love to hear your thoughts and feelings about becoming more visible in your work, and for what you care about. Please let us know in the comments below.

swing ropeWhether you’re in business or running a project, there are so many moving parts. It can be easy to get lost in chaos and find yourself scrambling around for last minute deadlines. It‘s exhausting and it hurts; it can damage your health, and it can hurt your heart.

When you’re running on adrenaline, it can give the appearance of action, even of efficiency. But underneath it all, it’s really not that much fun.  If we are already working in crisis mode, lurching from one task to another, then we don’t have the space to respond truly.

On the river

When I worked as a rafting guide, our work began way before we the clients arrived. We spent that time getting ready. The gear was all organised, the safety gear at hand and everything was in its place.

We also had a lot of training. We had been flipped into the water, over and over again in training, so that our response came automatically. We knew exactly what to do to look after our clients.

It is about safety

We wanted and needed everyone to be safe and so we had everything in place to promote this. It meant that if anything did happen, we had the free energy to deal with it.

Your clients need to feel safe too. They need to know that they can rely on you, that you will be there and that you can handle whatever comes.

It’s about more than that too.

It’s also about the essence of your work

It’s about how you want to work and the space you want to offer your clients. Having systems in place can help you create this.

On the boat, we wanted the space to talk, to have fun and to play. Our systems helped us do that.

Your systems support the heart of your work

Systems can create the space you need for your clients, for your relationships, and for your health. They help you create the kind of business and work flow that suits you and helps your flourish. They also help your clients feel safe doing business with you and helps them receive the most from working with you.

Some tips for creating systems that work for you

 1. Facing where you are

This is a good time to be really honest with yourself. How do you feel mostly during your work day? Where are those crazy spots in your day and week? Where do you get stressed? What things do you leave to the last minute? Or do you try to do too much?

Remember to be gentle with yourself here. There is enough space for all of this, including your feelings about it.

Once you wake up to the true costs, you can then start to do something about it.

2. Now consider what is most important to you

What qualities would you like to infuse your days? Would you like to invite more joy, or more peace or more adventure? How would you like to feel at the end of the day?

In the boat, our wellbeing and safety were important, and we wanted to have fun and play.

3. Then you build your day around this

Would you like to start the day with yoga or a walk? How many hours would you like to spend working each day? How long do you want to spend with friends, or colleagues and nourishing yourself this way? How much time do you want to spend writing or creating? How much do you want to spend on your business and how much with clients?

We organised everything we could so that we had time for our clients. We had time to talk and to play. We had water-fights, we swam down waterfalls and we lazed about in the pools.

4 What systems can help you do this?

Now consider some processes or systems that can help you achieve this.

Do you need to automate some of your processes eg your newsletter sign-ups?  Do you need to outsource some of your tasks?

This is the time to get practical with what you love, and create your systems to support this.

All of those systems and processes you implement help create the space for what your business really needs, what you really need and what your clients need. They help create the space for what’s important and support the heart of your work.

Bringing your awareness to these things means you start to create what you want, rather than just surviving what is.

Please come and share with us.
